Scott started Barbur Law in Milwaukie in 2012 and has grown it from a solo general practice to a small firm, adding a Tillamook location in 2020 after assuming the practice of long-time attorney and Tillamook stalwart, Christian K. Hooley. Scott’s practice has honed its focus over the years to represent clients in estate planning, probate and trust administration, guardianships, and business and real property contracts. Having spent many of his early years practicing litigation, Scott is no stranger to the courtroom and has appeared in local, county, district and administrative courts, including winning two cases before the Oregon Land Use Board of Appeals.
Scott graduated from Portland State University with a degree in geography and earned his law degree at Lewis & Clark Law School. He has served in several leadership roles around the community, including as President of the Rotary Club of Milwaukie (2014-15), as a Planning Commissioner for the City of Milwaukie (2013-17), and as Chair of the Board of Directors for the Friends of the Milwaukie Center (2019-21). When not at the office, you can find Scott outside enjoying nature in any way possible, reading about history and sociology, and enjoying the company of his family and friends.
